Trilogy Boutique + Canteen: (counter-clockwise)
- Chocnut Ice Cream
- Crispy Chicken + Katsu Sauce + Rice
- Orange Chicken Bowl
I’ve wanted to go to Trilogy for a long time. Yesterday, I finally had the chance to, along with a couple of buddies of mine. We decided to stop by for lunch before we started the long day ahead.
We got their rice meals
because we were hungryso we could see how it would hold up with the other dishes that we’d try next time (pasta, sandwiches, Monte Cristo that I will definitely order soon). I was surprised at how filling it was. To be honest, I wasn’t really expecting much from the food because I knew that the place was better known for the retail. Man, was I wrong. The food was good. Really good. The chicken stayed true to it’s name and was definitely crispy. I recognized the katsu sauce immediately (haha I buy the same one from Japanese groceries). The orange chicken…. was not orange, but it was certainly flavourful. The side salads/vegetables in general that went with the respective dishes, complemented the orders nicely. And the ice cream…. oh lawd the ice cream was heavenly. It’s consistency was creamy. The Chocnut did not overpower the vanilla at all. And even though there were big chunks when you got a spoonful, the taste was still very consistent. It also took a while for it to melt (which is what I usually look for in my ice cream). I wish they sold that particular dessert in pints, because I’d definitely love to take some home, and eat it whenever I’d like haha!
Overall, Trilogy Boutique + Canteen was a sweet find for lunch. The place had a really laid-back vibe which I enjoyed. The music was great, and being surrounded with beautiful clothes and shoes made me want to stay just a little bit longer.
